Michelle Miller-Adams is an author and consultant with over twenty years of professional experience in non-profit management, community asset-building and economic development. Much of her current work focuses on the Kalamazoo Promise, a path-breaking college scholarship program that unites the goals of educational attainment and community revitalization. She is the author of the first comprehensive study of this initiative, speaks with local and national media on the topic, and consults with communities around the nation engaged in establishing similar programs
Miller-Adams is a Research Fellow at the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research and a member of the political science faculty at Grand Valley State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University, and a B.A. in History (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
